2018 RHAM Education Foundation Scholarship

The 2018 RHAM Education Foundation Scholarship was awarded to graduating senior Alexia Beber, of Marlborough

2018 Music Department Grant

Music Department grant: Was awarded to the RHAM MS and HS Music Department for a camera system that will allow for a bigger social media presence of the department and for the mobile streaming of concerts to Periscope.

The goal of this RHAM Education Foundation funded project is to better reach the community through music and arts by bringing performances to them when they cannot attend.  These student events can now be watched by relatives and friends who could not attend a RHAM MS or HS performance on site.  There are also off-site events such as the Berklee Jazz Festival, Choral Caroling, and the Disney concerts which relatives and friends in any state with access to a computer can now view. Students helped design and coordinate the system that was bought. Students learned about how technology has progressed within the streaming realm and how the process works.

2018 RALLY Student Group Grant

RALLY student group grant: Was awarded to the student-run Regional Activities Leading Local Youth group.

RALLY consists of RMS and RHS students and is advised by two teachers as well as the AHM Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator.

One of RALLY’s goals is to plan experiences that can help fellow students learn more about the consequences of substance abuse. The students voted to ask Mr. Chris Herren to visit RHAM and speak to 8th through 10th grade students in the 2019 academic year. Mr. Herren, previously a professional athlete, has been in recovery from drugs and alcohol for ten years. He started The Herron Project, whose mission includes educating youth and at-risk populations on the importance of a leading a healthy lifestyle and providing techniques to handle pressure within their lives, their community or their family situation. Mr. Herren has speaking engagements around the country. He strives to inspire youth to make healthy choices, ask for help when needed, and support fellow students.
