2012 Grants

Ms Beth Calderoni and Ms Jennifer Person of the RHAM Special Education/STEP Program were awarded a grant to fund a variety of group-based activities, parent support programs, and behavior management incentives.

Mr Jared Clifton of the RHAM High School Social Studies Department was awarded a grant to augment instruction of U.S. History through the integration of instructional “apps” available through the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, and the Military Channel, with connectivity to the classroom Smart Board.  

Ms Beverley Fisher of the RHAM High School Art Department was awarded a grant to allow her students to participate in a full day drawing workshop with faculty members of the Lyme Academy College of Art. Note: Implementation of this project is deferred to 2013.

Mr Tim Landry of the RHAM High School Technology Education Department was awarded a grant to acquire 30 site licenses allowing implementation of the Virtual Business-Restaurant simulation program in the Principles of Business Management classes.  

Mr Richard Staron of the RHAM High School Science Department was awarded a grant to allow the chemistry section of the 9th grade science curriculum to participate in glassmaking through supplies and instruction obtained from Jamestown Glasshouse, which teaches the glassmaking process which was commercially successful in colonial Virginia. The project merges science, art, and history instruction.
